Home delivery platform, Snappy Shopper, has reported a bumper summer for sales, as the demand for delivery rose with the soaring temperatures.
From 1st June 2022- 31st August 2022, the business saw record-breaking order numbers and GMV, continuing the high growth achieved post pandemic as customers continue to support their favourite local retailers.
The ACS 2022 Local Shop Report highlighted that the average basket spend is £7.27, whilst the home delivery platform claims that retailers report a £26 average basket spend through Snappy.
Supporting customers with the rising cost-of-living was another factor that contributed to Snappy Shopper’s success. The app partnered with 150 stores across Scotland to give thousands of Scottish families the chance to top up lunch supplies for 1p. Both Snappy Shopper and participating retailers picked up the cost of the promotion, while Snappy Shopper is also investing heavily in marketing to raise awareness and support local retailers.
Mike Callachan, CEO at Snappy Shopper, said: “The demand for home delivery and the desire to shop locally is greater than ever with Snappy Shopper reaching another sales milestone in the last quarter. Our model of partnering with retailers and using our world class technology to enable the existing network of convenience stores, is the most sustainable way to meet the growing consumer demand for rapid grocery delivery.”
