Spar stores across the UK are selling bunches of fresh daffodils for £1 in support of Marie Curie and its 2020 Great Daffodil Appeal.
Stores are collectively hoping to sell 250,000 bunches of daffodils over the flowering season and Spar is donating 10p from the sale of each bouquet to the terminal illness charity.
Spar UK marketing manager Alex Hall said: “We are thrilled to be able to support our national charity partner Marie Curie with this beautiful initiative.
“This initiative is set to be our biggest fundraising activity since our partnership began in 2017 and it’s great to have the full support of Spar retailers and wholesalers.
“We are delighted that our customers can raise money for Marie Curie by shopping at Spar. Every bunch of daffodils sold will help Marie Curie be there for more families who need them during the toughest of times,” he added.
Marie Curie senior partnership manager Tom Heron added: “Spar stores across the country are always so enthusiastic in getting behind the appeal, and with this year promising to be our biggest year yet, we’re grateful to both Spar and their customers for supporting the promotion during such a vital time for Marie Curie’s support.”
Hundreds of stores stores will be supporting Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal with a host of in-store activities and the appeal is also being backed by marketing campaigns with additional communication created for Mother’s Day to strengthen message in March.
