The Metropolitan Police are appealing for information regarding the fatal stabbing of a store worker during a robbery at a convenience store in north-west London.
The incident happened at the Marsh Food and Wine newsagent on Marsh Road in Pinner at around 6am on 24 March.
According to Police, the victim, who was opening the store, was attacked and stabbed by a man who then carried out a robbery, stealing the till. The 54-year-old store worker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective chief inspector, Simon Stancombe, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around Marsh Road this morning and saw anything of interest to contact police.
“This was a violent robbery that has escalated, resulting in the murder of a man. It appears the till was stolen from the shop during this robbery and this may have been discarded by the suspect. If you have come across this, we want to hear from you.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a black Vauxhall Astra that was driven away at speed, south down Cecil Park immediately after the attack. We think that car was parked in Cecil Park prior to the murder - if you saw this, or have any other information that could help us progress this investigation, I would urge you to get in contact.”
The incident followed a number of recent violent robberies across the UK, including an incident in the West Midlands in which a female convenience store worker was attacked by masked men armed with baseball bats.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the incident room number on 0208 358 0200 on 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD1653/24Mar. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
