Postal locker service Inpost has today released its growth figures for the second quarter of 2024 – and in the UK particularly, they are very large Over that time, UK parcel volumes continued to accelerate, increasing by 163% year-on-year to 23.6 million. While customer-to-customer transactions and returns remained the largest part of the company’s volume, inroads are also being made into more business-focused equivalents.
Revenue in the UK market tripled compared to the same quarter in 2023, supported by rapid network expansion and logistics improvements. InPost’s UK network expanded to over 9,600 out of home points - up +58% year-on-year. This includes 7,502 locker machines which are increasingly used by convenience retailers. Over 670 automated parcel machines (APMs) were launched by the company in the second quarter of this year alone.
Rafał Brzoska, founder and CEO, said: “In the UK, our fastest growing market, we’ve accelerated our growth compared with the first quarter of 2024. We’re improving network utilisation, and our app was among the top 10 most downloaded lifestyle apps in the UK many times this year.”
