Guy Warner’s Upton upon Severn ‘Together with Morrison’s’ store has reopened after local flooding forced it to close last Saturday (14th).
While flood water from the River Severn blocked access to the shop, floodgates successfully protected the store from damage and it was able to open back up on Thursday once water levels had subsided.
Despite the Upton store being inaccessible to customers for five days, kindly staff bravely donned their wellies and waded through the flood waters to donate some of the residual stock to the Upton Community Fridge where residents could pick it up for free.
Guy’s latest flood encounter was a far cry from his nightmare experience in Tewkesbury back in 2007, which left a wrecked shop requiring a £350,000 refit.
