Retailer Sugeshan Jegasothy has opened Londis’ first new future concept store.
Sugeshan’s retail portfolio has been further enhanced with a £150,000 investment into his third store, Londis Box, in Wiltshire. The new 1,530sq ft store boasts several exciting features such as a ‘The Cooler’ beer cave and a ‘Treat Stop’ food-to-go concept. Originally built as a community shop back in 1925, the building has undergone new roofs and internal works, ahead of the full refit which is now displaying the Londis brand new guidelines.
Shoppers can enjoy a 12-metre range of fresh, chilled and frozen foods, groceries, on-the go solutions and a bespoke bakery. The store also offers value groceries through Jack’s and Euroshopper ranges and its new range is clearly signposted with smart new internal graphics and category signage, while new-look promotional POS highlights its ‘Amazing Value’ offer.
It also features a new anthracite grey fascia, a new-look for the sandwich meal deal, and digital media screens supporting promotions and suppliers partners. As well as new protein, craft beer and local POS.
Shoppers can also feast their eyes on new external branding, including bright new window graphics with attractive product imagery against bold green and blue backdrops. The inside of the store showcases further new branding and marketing features, including new-look Welcome panels showing local points of interest. The Welcome panel stars an image of the famous Box Railway Tunnel, which was chosen by local community group Box People and Places.
In support of the local community, the store recently organised a colouring competition to create a Londis Box Mascot. The winner of the competition will receive an art hamper and will also be able to donate £150 to its school. It is also participating in other upcoming events such as giving away free fruits to local children, installing a community board for advertising locals events and sponsoring various events throughout the year.
Sugeshan expressed his gratitude towards the Londis team: “The whole store looks absolutely incredible. The Londis team have done the most fantastic job on the refit and merchandising. There’s so much range in here yet the store still feels so bright and spacious. My RDM Rachel Drake and Regional Development Controller Vince Brown have also both been so supportive, and I can’t thank them enough. I’m just so excited to get going and so proud that this store has been selected as the first to showcase the new concept. It’s going to be great!”
Stewart Fenn, sales director at Booker, said: “What an amazing job Sugeshan and the Londis team have done, the whole store is very impressive and finished to a superb standard. I really look forward to seeing how the store performs. Massive well done to everyone involved.”
