Multi-site Londis retailer Steve Bassett has put his Taunton Road site in Bridgwater, Somerset, on the market as he looks to “semi-retire”.
The 2,300 sq ft property includes a post office and sells hot and cold food from its deli counter. The business has an annual turnover in excess of £1m and offers fresh produce, fresh bakery and a walk-in beer cave. It currently houses Fwip ice cream, Tango Ice Blast and Tchibo coffee machines and is being brought to the market by specialist property adviser Christie & Co.
Steve said: “This has been a great store to look after over the last 10 years or so. As this one is so much further away from my other stores it seemed sensible to sell this one first. The store has a very solid turnover and offers lots of opportunity for new owners to enhance and expand an established business serving the local community.”
Matthew McFarlane, business agent at Christie & Co, said: “This is a fabulous store with lots of varied offerings for the local community. The business is a local post office and external ATM. The size of the store allows for an extensive choice of product lines and promotions to keep the customers coming in. The Post Office assists in driving further footfall along with a variety of hot and cold foods and drinks to go.”
