Unilever is re-launching its 1980s Wall’s Funny Feet ice cream following high consumer demand in the Bring Back a Brand campaign, run by Convenience Store’s sister title The Grocer. Available exclusively to the In Home channel, the multipacks of four will be ready to order from September 2 and on shelf from September 30. The iconic foot shape, strawberry flavour ice cream and pink colour from the 1980s remain, along with the recognisable red and yellow colour cues on the original packaging, which has been updated with a modern design.

The product received over 6,000 votes during the Bring Back a Brand campaign. “Tapping into the nostalgia that today’s adults have for Wall’s Funny Feet, we aim to bring further growth to the £3.5m handheld multipacks sector  by providing a high-quality, fun product that parents can enjoy once again, but this time sharing with their own children,” says Brigitta Holland, brand manager for Wall’s at Unilever UK.

The re-launch forms part of The Unilever Foundation’s partnership with charity organisation, Save the Children and 10 pence will be donated from the sale of each marked pack to Save the Children’s “Eat, Sleep, Learn Play” programme to help give the most disadvantaged children in the UK a better start in life.

A Save the Children flash features on-pack to communicate the partnership with the charity and the donation from Wall’s through each sale.
