McCain Foods is spicing up the frozen food category with six new products.
McCain Spicy Peri Peri Fries and McCain Steakhouse Ridge Cut Fries have been inspired by out-of-home casual dining and are designed to appeal to shoppers from slightly more affluent one and two person households. Each have rrps of £2.50 for 750g.
Continuing its tradition of introducing a new limited edition flavour of Wedges each year, McCain is also launching McCain American BBQ Wedges at £2 for 750g.
A microwavable frozen mashed potato product is also entering the range, enabling shoppers to create fluffy mash straight from the freezer in three minutes. New McCain Mashed Potato has an rrp of £1.50 for 650g and is designed for busy families looking for consistency and convenience at meal times.
McCain Croquettes have also been re-launched with a new an improved recipe and rrp of £1.50 for 550g, while in the ‘kids’ frozen foods sector McCain is launching McCain Mash Machines.
Made with real mashed potato and sunflower oil, the low fat sides come in the shape of trains, planes, cars and boats with an rrp of £1.50 for a 454g bag.
Mark Hodge, marketing director for McCain Foods, said the developments would bring new shoppers into the frozen potato category and “drive interest and excitement by meeting demand for the latest out of home trends in the home, as well as offering quality, value and convenience.”
