Blakemore Wholesale has relaunched its Wolverhampton cash & carry depot following a strategic review of customer usage of its branches.
The layout of the warehouse has been improved to make it easier to shop quickly, and the sku count has been reduced to cut unwanted stock and provide a more focused range of products.
The relaunched cash and carry still includes 10,000 lines across ambient, chilled, fresh and frozen categories. The depot also features extended fine foods, fresh meat and food catering ranges. Blakemore Wholesale has also updated the range by introducing 300 new grocery products
Managing director James Russell said: “The relaunch of Wolverhampton Cash & Carry is part of a scheme to update Blakemore Wholesale depots throughout the country and ensure their continued relevance in the wholesale market.
“The business has carried out this relaunch in response to customer feedback and category insight from our suppliers and is in support of our three strategic pillars: customer, supplier and efficiency.
“We believe that the new depot layout will make it easier for customers to find categories and products, focus on best sellers and ultimately achieve the optimum core range.”
The depot celebrated its relaunch with an open day for suppliers as well as hosting a separate open day for customers.
The company laid on exclusive deals, goodie bags and barbecue food. Customers were also offered to sample new products from suppliers, meet the senior management team and win prizes in a raffle.
James added: “The Wholesale team have done an outstanding job in turning around a new range, offer, look and feel – and have been brilliantly supported by the teams in Creative Print, Fresh Foods and Fine Foods, along with the team at Landmark.
“While our open days are primarily about transforming our relationship with suppliers and local customers, we also welcome all colleagues to come and have a look at the depot.”
