Newspaper publisher News UK has teamed up with the consumer money-saving app bigDL to help drive sales in independent convenience stores.
The partnership will enable News UK to further strengthen its relationship with retailers, with major brands also joining bigDL to offer mobile coupons on their products to be redeemed in participating stores via the app.
The bigDL app brings together offers from over 70,000 retailers and will now include exclusive bigDL mobile coupons that can be redeemed in the participating stores. The coupons will be funded by the major brands which have joined bigDL and News UK while retailers involved in the scheme will also be able to add their own store offers to the bigDL ‘deal stream’.
Greg Deacon, head of retail trade marketing at News UK, said: “The next phase of our MyPerfectShop program in conjunction with bigDL will enable us to better engage with retailers, helping them to drive further footfall, loyalty and spend from the tech savvy shopper.”
Mark Biscoe, commercial director at bigDL, said: “Through our partnership with News UK, we are looking forward to bringing our digital marketing tools to independent retailers throughout the UK. bigDL will enable retailers to communicate their offers to today’s technically savvy and value hungry customer.”
The bigDL technology consists of a range of digital communication tools and is integrated with mobile coupon and beacon technology, providing consumers with the best discounts on the high street and online. The bigDL app is available to download on the Apple App store and Google Play store.
