The myHermes ParcelShop collection and delivery service is set to be rolled out to 1,000 Payzone outlets.
The stores will be chosen based on a range of criteria including opening times, parking and population breakdown in order to maximise parcel volumes.
All 1,000 shops will be provided with myHermes branded POS and will be featured on its ParcelShop online finder to help customers find their nearest store. It is hoped the 1,000 sites will be rolled out by Spring of this year.
Payzone UK sales and marketing director Mark Mellor said the service would complement its existing services. “This is a great news service for Payzone and sits nicely alongside our other basket of services,” he said. “In addition, it should provide increased footfall and great revenue for retailers adding their offerings for customers whilst providing greater awareness in the local community of Payzone services.”
Hermes CFO Rob Edson said the partnership would help offer more choice for convenience customers. “We see our relationship with Payzone as a strategic partnership – the tie up will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of our ParcelShop estate and ultimately providing greater multichannel choice and convenience for our customers in 2014 and beyond.”
