Veganuary is going from strength to strength with more than 600,000 people officially taking part in 2022, surpassing last year’s total of 580,000 participants. With veganism becoming mainstream and people keen to explore plant-based, there’s no shortage of products to choose from.
New Forest Ice Cream
New Forest Ice Cream has added two new flavours to its vegan range.
It has launched Vegan Vanilla Fudge dairy free ice cream in a 500ml tub while Lemon and Lime sorbet has recently been certified as vegan. More info
Oat Made
Morning Foods has moved away from breakfast with the launch of a new range of vegan oat-based convenience meals.
Oat Made is available in a meal pot or pouch format that aims to provide an alternative to traditional pouched rice and noodles. The range in pouches (all 250g) comprises three flavours – Golden Vegetable, Savoury Original and Mexican Style. The pots (all 250g) also come in three flavours - Mexican Style, Katsu Curry and Sweet Chilli Oats. The Pouches RRP is £1.75 and Pots £2.25. More info
GRO
Co-op and Nisa stores now have access to the expanded GRO range of plant-based products, with seven additional SKUs.
GRO products are available in a wide range of categories including Food To Go and Snacking, Pastry and Meat Alternatives, Ready Meals, Desserts and Sauces as well as Frozen. The new range includes the No Beef Pie, Fishless Fillet and Chips and Gunpowder Potato Masala. More info
Spar own label wine
Spar has become the first UK grocer to make its full range of own label wines suitable for vegan.
The vegan Spar wine range includes over 70 wines, which have won more than 190 awards between them over the past three years. This follows a pledge made by the business in 2019. More info
Ginsters
Ginsters has extended its range of meat-free recipes by introducing the Ginsters Vegan Creamy Garlic Mushroom Slice in time for Veganuary.
Available now, the limited-edition 170g slice widens Ginsters’ meat-free range to seven recipes, complementing the success of Ginsters’ trio of Plant-Based. More info
