Healthy snacks company Abakus Foods has created a range of seaweed crisps coated with tapioca to give a crunchy texture.

Abakus Foods Seaweed Crisps

The crisps are made from seaweed harvested from the seas of South Korea. Available in three flavours: lightly salted; salt & vinegar; and cheese flavour, all variants are gluten-free, vegan, and contain around 100 calories per 18g bag (rrp £1.29).

Abakus will also donate 1% of sales from the range to the 1% For The Planet Program, which helps fund charities who want to protect the environment.

Helen Wang, founder and director of Abakus Foods, said: “We created this range out of our love for the nutritious seaweed. Feedback has been amazing and people keep coming back for more. Being a natural foods brand, we embrace the wholesome, delicious, and nutritious foods that nature provides us with.

“We are also honoured to be collaborating with “1% For The Planet Program” to give back to the planet and donate 1% of sales to environmental causes. We are super excited to be finally sharing them with you”.

Abakus Foods’ seaweed crisps will be made available to independent retailers via Booker, Bidfood and Brakes later this month.
