A growing number of shoppers want to find local products in convenience stores, according to a study by shopping research consultancy HIM.
Some 56% of shoppers polled in HIM's spring Convenience Tracking Programme said it was important c-stores sold locally produced goods and 27% said they would use a store more often if it offered local produce.
HIM director Tom Fender said: "Flying the British flag is high on people's agendas. Health and nutrition plays an important role because people associate local products with fresher products."
