Young's Seafood has launched a cook in the bag range of fish, flavoured with natural butters.
Consumers can cook the fish from frozen either in the oven or within four minutes in the microwave. The company says that its research shows that consumers would like to cook more fish, but don't have the confidence to do so.
The four varieties that make up the range are: wild pink salmon fillets with garlic and herb butter; haddock fillets with lemon and herb butter; cod fillets with sundried tomato and basil butter; and smoked haddock fillets with wholegrain mustard butter.
The cook in the bag range will be supported with an annual marketing budget of about £2m including a TV ad campaign in January.
