Scottish Spar wholesaler C J Lang & Son is in negotiations to acquire the family-owned convenience store chain A M Landsburgh (AML), which has operated in the Dundee and Fife regions for more than three generations.
AML, which employs the slogan ‘You Make Us Better’, prides itself on its strength of customer service and local knowledge, achieved by employing local people, many of whom have worked in its stores for years, it says.
The acquisition of the ten-store chain, currently headed up by managing director Iain Landsburgh, would propel CJ Lang’s estate of wholly-owned Spar stores to beyond 100.
Both parties are working towards concluding a deal by the end of April 2011.
