Last week saw the grand opening of a new 2,200 sq.ft. Morrisons Daily store in Tonbridge, Kent, opened via the Pricewatch Group. The former Poundland store underwent a full redesign, and it took a complete refit over several months to turn it into the retail space you see today.

The high street store is open from 6am-10m daily, and it is hoped there will eventually be 15 members of staff on the team in total, spanning full and part time members.

The total cost of the work was £300k, and longer-term plans for the space include publicising its new sushi bar, which is to be supplied by local business, Nihaw, based just up the High Street. The sushi offering will run alongside the Lavazza Coffee, Fwip, Shmoo, Field Foods, Original Baker, Kumar & Field Fare brands already on offer in the store. There is also as an open-plan kitchen with an industrial feel, plus a bar for those who would like to eat in.
