Parfett’s Cash and Carry has reported record turnover for the second consecutive year.
Total sales for the year ending 30 June reached £345m, an increase of 6.8%. Like-for-like sales excluding tobacco were up by 16% during the same period.
Joint managing director Greg Suszczenia said: “In a difficult trading environment with so much change in the sector, this strong performance is a testament of our company strategy. Recruitment into our retail club schemes, further investment in our powerful promotional offer and everyday pricing, plus the basics such as great availability across our branches for our customers have all helped in delivering this outstanding set of numbers.”
Go Local, Parfett’s independent fascia for retailers, has enjoyed significant growth with 110 new stores joining in the last 12 months.
Head of marketing Guy Swindell added: “Retailers like the retailer club schemes we offer and that’s proven in the numbers we have seen join us this year. A collaboration of great prices, strong promotions, extensive range and outstanding availability have all helped to recruit new stores from other traditional fascia sources.”
The company recently expanded its portfolio of sites with the acquisition of the former Blakemore Cash and Carry site in Middlesbrough.
