KP Snacks has unveiled the winners of its 70th Anniversary competition.
Run in collaboration with Convenience Store, two retailers were awarded a £700 prize fund to celebrate KP Snacks’ 70 years of success as the UK’s leading nuts brand as well as recognising the amazing work done by its retailer partners.
The first winner was Sue Nithyanandan of Costcutter Epsom. Sue impressed the judges with her planned programme of after-school cooking lessons, which will be offered free of charge to children of low-income families.
The other winning retailer was Tracy Raybould of Greens of Bassingham. Greens of Bassingham is known for going above and beyond in support of its community and Tracy’s entry wowed the judging panel.
The store runs the local monthly food bank and they plan to use the £700 prize fund to buy Christmas and Seasonal essentials for people in the Withamside Community, which supports eight rural villages in Lincolnshire. Tracy also plans to provide a Christmas Gift Bag of treats for anyone in the area who will be alone at Christmas.
Ten additional runners-up also won £70 worth of mixed KP stock.
KP Snacks trading director Matt Collins says: “It’s been a busy year for KP Nuts with us celebrating the brand’s 70th anniversary. We’ve been looking to raise awareness of the history and successes of the brand as we celebrate this milestone, while also celebrating and rewarding our valued retailer partners. It was fantastic to work with Convenience Store on this competition and be able to give back. All of the entries were excellent, but Sue and Tracy’s really stood out for their commitment to helping their wider communities.”
As part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, KP Nuts recently launched a new retailer guide to help drive nuts sales in the convenience and impulse channel.
