Unitas Wholesale has announced that Michael Skelton, CEO of S&W Wholesale has stepped down from the Unitas board.
Skelton joined the board in November 2021 and said he was going to focus on S&W Wholesale.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my role as a non-executive member director of Unitas Wholesale; however, it is now time for me to focus my time and attention on the S&W business – we have some extensive development and growth plans during the next 12-18 months, following our move to an EOT model operating for the benefit of the employees,” he said. “ This will be the major focus for my time as we implement our strategy to grow and expand the business, working collaboratively with our customers and suppliers to ensure successful trading for decades to come.”
John Kinney said, “We are very grateful to Michael for his expertise, support and knowledge of the industry during his time as a board member and look forward to continuing to work with him and the S&W Wholesale team into the future.”
Meanwhile, Unitas has appointed Phil Dawson to the role of trading controller for foodservice within the out of home team. Reporting to trading director Cheryl Hope, Dawson has held various roles at A.F. Blakemore Foodservice, Bako North Western and E Foods Ltd.
Kinney added: “I am delighted to welcome Phil to Unitas at such an important time in our development as we continue to re-shape the organisation. Phil will be an excellent addition to our business and has the skills and experience that we are looking for to develop our Foodservice offering.”
