Home delivery platform Snappy Shopper has appointed Philippe Rondepierre as its new marketing director.
Rondepierre joins Snappy Shopper from Nisa where he has been head of marketing since 2017. He will take up his role at Snappy Shopper in September.
His experience in the convenience retail and wholesale sector spans nearly 30 years, holding roles at Nisa, Spar UK and Spar-delivered wholesaler CJ Lang.
At Nisa, Rondepierre has been responsible for all online and offline marketing, including the Nisa media hub, which enables suppliers to optimise the alignment of their brand and marketing plans to Nisa’s seasonal programme of trading and marketing activities.
He will be responsible for creating, driving and implementing Snappy Shopper’s marketing strategy and will report to chief executive Mark Steven. “We’re delighted to have recruited someone of Philippe’s calibre to head up our key marketing function and work with the rest of the team to drive growth of the Snappy Shopper brand,” said Steven.
“Philippe has a wealth of experience in the convenience retail sector spanning many years so he understands the dynamics of the fast-paced and ever-evolving marketplace that Snappy Shopper inhabits. He has an impeccable pedigree and outstanding track record when it comes to implementing strategy and tailoring marketing activity to achieve the best possible results – his role will be instrumental as we move into the next phase of our growth which has seen Snappy Shopper grow from a small base last year to national coverage today.
“No other platform has the functionality that Snappy Shopper offers. It drives incremental new sales for our top stores in excess of £10,000 per week under normal trading conditions, with our top-performing store achieving £40,000 per week during the Covid-19 crisis.”
On his new role, Rondepierre added: “It is an exciting opportunity to be involved with an ambitious tech start-up in the sector I have spent my career in and in the city I call home. Snappy Shopper’s progress in such a short space of time has impressed me and I am very much looking forward to joining Mark and the team on the next stage of the journey.”
