Recently formed wholesalers, The Wholesale Group (TWG), have just held their first event of 2025, and the debut foodservice event, providing suppliers and members with the opportunity to discuss new product development, market trends and to take advantage of deals, grow existing business and explore new opportunities.

Held this week in Nottingham, the Development & Innovation days were the first opportunity for the new group’s members to meet, as well as to spend time with the newly formed head office team. The event comprised foodservice member meetings, one-to-ones with suppliers and a mini expo.

John Hervin, managing director at Tyneside Foodservice, said: ”It was a great opportunity to network with other members to discuss how we can work together and collaboratively overcome challenges in the industry and support each other as a group.

“Wholesalers have spent many years trying to become a one-stop shop for their customers and now, we’re delighted we have an innovative buying group that offers the same for their wholesale customers.”

Jess Douglas, TWG joint managing director, said: “The three days were a fantastic start to our event calendar for 2025. It was incredibly positive with so much energy and enthusiasm from both members and suppliers as they worked together. We’re already looking forward to our bigger than ever trade show on 20 March at Cheltenham Racecourse to cement the group even further.”

Following the event, food waste and hunger charity Fareshare collected all leftover goods which were redistributed to frontline charities in the area.
