Retailers have been invited to provide evidence of the impact of crime on their business.

The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) is calling on retailers to submit evidence to its 2013 Crime Survey which covers burglary, robbery and violence and harm against staff.

The ACS will use this evidence to communicate the true impact of crime on local shops to the Home Office and inform the work of the National Retail Crime Steering Group.

Chief executive James Lowman said: “The evidence we gather in this crime survey is fundamental to informing our policy in the coming year. We want to find ways to prevent, detect and deter crime and we need support from government, police and communities to do this.”

Retailers can submit evidence here and the deadline for responses is Friday 10 January 2014.
