Leading premium wine brand Apothic has launched a new sku for Autumn called Apothic Dark.
Apothic Dark (rrp £10.00) joins Apothic Red, which is the number 1 brand in the growing New World Premium red wine blends category (Nielsen, UK total market). With an ABV of 14%, Apothic Dark was launched to bring new consumers to the brand. With a bolder, richer taste than Apothic Red, it’s perfect for those who are looking for an affordable and high quality red wine.
Created using a unique blend of four distinct Californian red grapes including Petite Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Zinfandel, Apothic Dark offers flavours of blueberry and blackberry, with indulgent notes of dark chocolate and coffee; it delivers a rich, yet silky wine experience.
David Mallory, channel director UK Impulse and on-trade at E&J Gallo Winery, said: “Apothic is all about creating unique blends with bold flavours, bringing a more mysterious and modern edge to the wine category. As its name and label suggest, Apothic Dark has a denser, darker profile than Apothic Red and will appeal to those who want to explore more complex and drier red blends. We believe that the introduction of Apothic Dark to our premium portfolio will play a significant role in continuing to grow the category in-store and in the on-trade.”
The launch is supported with a sampling and digital marketing campaign.
