The Co-operative Group is planning to put banking operations in up to 250 of its UK stores.
Services will vary, with some stores having a machine to withdraw cash and deposit cheques, while others will have staff available to advise on financial products.
Four trial stores have an ATM/paying-in machine, an information kiosk, telephone banking and literature on Co-operative Bank products. Two also feature a sales assistant to help with any queries.
Co-operative Group spokeswoman Michelle Henderson said the scheme has been successful so far and it was looking to extend trials to other stores.
