Devon and Cornwall police have released CCTV images of a ram raid gang they believe are responsible for scores of ATM robberies across the country.
The latest incident took place at a Spar store in Laira Road, Plymouth. The gang prised open the store doors with crowbars and wrapped rope around the cash machine that contained about £4,000 in cash. They then dragged it from the store into a stolen Vauxhall Astra.
The same gang is thought to have escaped with about £40,000 from a cash machine at the Plymouth Pavilions three weeks earlier. Detectives revealed they are liaising with fellow officers in Leicestershire, Merseyside and Norfolk, where similar offences have taken place.
