Premier has opened its first store in Northern Ireland.
Owned by independent retailer Retailer Brian Meneely, the 870sq ft former Vivo store in Newtownards celebrated the launch with a family fun day.
Local people were invited to enjoy a BBQ, children’s face painting and product give-aways.
Prior to opening Brian also invested in a store refit including a new ceiling and lighting, a greater amount of refrigeration and a complete re-merchandise, including the introduction of Euro Shopper and Happy Shopper - the first time the value brands have been available to shoppers in the province.
Brian said he was confident that his new improved value offer would prove ”massively popular” with his community.
“As Premier is completely new to Northern Ireland, I am delighted to be the first of many I am sure!” he added.
Premier director Martin Swadling said the opening was “great news” for Premier and independent retailers in Northern Ireland.
“I am delighted that Premier will be serving local communities in this new area for us. I am really excited about the great value that Euro Shopper and Happy Shopper will deliver to communities, along with our Mega Deals. I am sure that the community here in Newtownards will support Brian and the new store and I am looking forward to making Premier a real force in Northern Ireland.”
