The Premier symbol group has hit 3,000 stores after independent retailer Peter Saleem opened a new Premier in the town of Blythe, Northumberland.
The opening of the 3,000th store was celebrated with a community fun day, where local shoppers were invited to enjoy a complimentary curry.
Former Londis retailer Peter said: “It’s great to be the 3,000th Premier store. The strength of the value offer from Premier is second to none which is so important to shoppers today. I am delighted with the store and am looking forward to serving our community.”
Premier director Martin Swadling said he was proud of Premier’s achievement and confident that Peter’s store would “go from strength to strength.”
“Premier’s commitment of delivering more cash profit for retailers and a better consumer experience have proven to be increasingly popular with both retailers and shoppers alike,” he said.
The group would continue to focus on offering shoppers value as well as reducing retailers’ operational costs through initiatives such as Booker Energy and recycling services, he added.
