Spanish food supplier Brindisa is expanding its range of seafood products with two cuttlefish ink skus.
Designed for home cooks and chefs alike, the Nortindal Cuttlefish Ink comes in 4g sachets (rrp £1.50/ six pack) and 500g jars (rrp £11 each).
Available to convenience retailers now, the products join Brindisa’s growing ambient line-up and are made with ink sourced from Nortindal - a small company based in the Basque Country.
Traditionally used in Basque cuisine, Cuttlefish Ink is often added to rice-based dishes to give them a dark black colour and a unique seafood flavour.
Monika Linton, chairman & product director at Brindisa, comments: “We pride ourselves on our premium range of Spanish seafood, so we’re extremely excited to be able to extend that range whilst offering outlets across the country an authentic Spanish ingredient. Creating dramatic visual impact and adding a rich, savoury flavour to a range of Spanish dishes, it’s brilliant to be able to offer this in a range of formats to suit all needs.”
