The Burton’s Biscuit Company is hoping to crack the peanut butter trend with the launch of Maryland Gooeys Peanut.
The new variant features a crunchy peanut cookie filled with a soft chocolate interior.
It’s available now in 160g packs and cases of eight with an rrp of £1.79.
Head of customer category management David Costello said: “Maryland Gooeys was the biggest sweet biscuit launch of 2013, with over 2m households purchasing Gooeys in its first year.
“Building on this success, the new peanut variant will capitalise on the surge in consumer demand for peanut butter that is seeing growth year on year.”
