Mondelez International has released a 100g Cadbury Bournville block (rrp: £1.42). The new format will join the existing 45g and 200g bars.
The new 100g block is expected to inspire more usage occasions for consumers, such as an evening treat. It is also set to encourage more consumers to try dark chocolate through a more accessible purchase point.
“Bournville is already worth £12m with only two formats and we’re hoping to grow sales even further with the latest addition to the family,” says Matthew Williams, marketing director at Mondelēz International. “The 100g format is new format is a great fit for smaller households or to share with a partner, while the 200g is ideal for larger families and cooking.
“The brand has a strong following, particularly among the 45+ demographic, and we’re hoping to delight loyal fans and new customers alike with a new way to enjoy dark chocolate.”
The Bournville brand is now in its 105th year, having first launched in 1908.
