Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages has announced a total relaunch of its premium adult soft drinks range, in preparation for April’s soft drinks levy.
After two years of research and recipe development, the new Sanpellegrino range will contain 40% less sugar than before. The new recipes launch next month.
The recipe change will see a proportion of added sugar replaced with stevia. The reformulated Sanpellegrino range will contain less than 5g/100ml o sugar, below the threshold for the sugar tax. The new recipes will also contain just 70 calories, 60 less than the current range.
Michel Beneventi, business executive officer for Sanpellegrino said: “For the past couple of years, we’ve been on a mission to reduce the overall sugar content of Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages. We’ve not only taken into consideration the change in our customers’ attitudes towards health and wellbeing, we’ve listened closely to ensure each new recipe retains the unmistakable and unique taste they know and love.”
The new Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages range will be available to independent retailers from April.
