Tesco-owned convenience store operator One Stop has opened its 700th store.
The milestone was reached with the conversion of a former Costcutter store in Ivel Court, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, which re-opened as a company-owned One Stop outlet on 14 November, one of three stores to be opened by the company on that day.
The group has already opened 30 new stores in the current financial year, not including 33 shops that it recently acquired from Spar operator Alfred Jones. These are due to be refurbished by January 2014.
One Stop’s property director Mark Williams said: “We’re delighted to have surpassed the 700 store mark, as we continue to invest in the business and bring One Stop’s range and value to local communities across England and Wales. Our colleagues are really looking forward to delivering the high standard of customer service One Stop is renowned for to the people of Letchworth.
“We plan to open further stores in the coming months, but we’re always on the lookout for additional sites, so that we can introduce the One Stop shopping experience to even more communities.”
