AF Blakemore’s head of corporate affairs has won a national corporate responsibility award.
Paul Cowley collected a Business in the Community ‘Game Changer’ award at the company’s annual general meeting last month for his dedication to AF Blakemore’s community work and corporate responsibility programme.
The Game Changer award recognises individuals who have made a demonstrable contribution to integrating responsible business policy and practice within the organisation.
Business in the Community national account manager Joan Cockburn said: “Paul is a quiet influencer who has successfully developed an integrated CR strategy across eight divisions and steered one of the West Midlands’ fastest growing community investment programmes.”
Paul first helped launch AF Blakemore’s formal corporate responsibility programme in 2003. He also introduced a number of new CR initiatives aimed at workplace improvement, minimised the company’s environmental impact and enhanced relationships with customers and suppliers.
