Blakemore Wholesale has opened the first Bmorelocal store in the North of Wales, bringing its total estate of stores up to six.
Located in Penrhyn Bay in the seaside town of Llandudno in North Wales, the 1,600 sq ft store officially opened its doors on April 8 after the former Lifestyle Express c-store underwent a complete refit, and more than doubled in size.
Owned by Roland Edwards and Beverley Williams, the store offers the full Bmorelocal symbol group package together with a Post Office, free to use cash machine, Pay Point and Lottery, with Blakemore Wholesale’s premium store format.
Under the symbol scheme, retailers have access to a full package including chilled, frozen, EPOS, food to go and drop shipments. In return, retailers sign up to a committed spend loyalty, taking tier 1 allocations and guaranteed promotional execution.
Owners Roland and Beverley said: “We had discussions with our Blakemore Wholesale Business development manager who talked through the benefits of Bmorelocal. They understood that we needed a point of difference and Bmorelocal delivered this with a great fascia design, planning and execution. More importantly they understand that all businesses are not the same.
“They listened to our plans and expectations and understood the importance of being in Wales, enabling us to stock local products to a predominantly Welsh community whilst giving us the strength of national promotions. Also what was important to us was working with the community and Blakemore Wholesale has more than supported us in this.”
Blakemore Wholesale’s charitable trust, the Blakemore Foundation has pledged to award each Bmorelocal store £200 to donate to a charity of their choice. Roland and Beverley will be asking all customers to nominate a charity of their choice on the launch day.
