Booker has extended its fruit and veg range to help retailers stock more fresh produce in their stores.
The wholesaler has increased its pricemarked range of Farm Fresh fruit and veg to 25 lines and now stocks it in shelf-ready packaging for retailers with price and margin information on all packs.
Booker retail sales director Steve Fox said the Farm Fresh range, which guarantees a 30% POR, would help retailers offer a credible fresh selection to customers.”Fresh is an important part of any convenience store, but it can be difficult for retailers to get right,” he said. “Our new packs are convenient for our customers and make a quick and impactful display.”
Booker has also increased the size of its fresh fruit and veg area in the Brighton depot by 66% to allow for a larger range. It hopes to introduce similar changes to all other depots in the estate by the end of the next financial year. In its half-year results, sales of fruit and veg grew by 34% like for like.
Booker is also trialling a Delice de France food to go selection in its Brighton branch.
