Booker has developed a Smart Savings campaign to enable retailers to save money across a range of different areas.
Speaking at the National Convenience Show last week, Budgens brand director Mike Baker said retailers would benefit from Booker’s scale in order to reduce costs across their business. Booker bought the Budgens brand from Musgrave last year.
“One of the benefits of choosing a symbol supplier or wholesaler of scale is that we can bring the joint purchasing power of the entire group to bear on things like utility costs, operational costs and also some financial services as well,” he said.
“Costs come in many shapes and sizes and at Budgens we work closely with our retailers to make sure we’re reducing their bottom line and helping them. We’re about to launch a Smart Savings campaign where retailers can benefit from Booker Group’s scale looking at all areas of their business to reduce costs.”
He added that the group had removed membership fees this year, and that the group’s marketing suite to support its three-weekly promotions is also free, in order to save retailers money.
