Budgens has expanded its range of fresh and breaded fish after taking on new supplier Kirwin Bros.
The new range features salmon and smoked salmon fillets, breaded fish cakes in a variety of flavours including cod and salmon & dill, breaded haddock fillets, breaded cod fillets, scallops, scallops in garlic butter and breaded scampi.
Mike Baker, Budgens director, said: “We were keen to offer a better service on our fish lines to our retailers, with more product options, an increase in flexibility and less potential wastage.
“Bringing on Kirwin Bros has enabled us to achieve this and we’re already seeing a significant increase in sales as a result.”
The new range can be delivered into stores six days a week and in smaller case sizes, enabling retailers to buy little and often - thereby mimicking the way their customers shop and ensuring retailers can offer the freshest possible products on a daily basis.
