Nestlé is giving its biggest confectionery brand a new variant: KitKat Gold.
The new four-finger treat combines the trademark crispy wafer with a smooth milk chocolate base and topping of creamy white chocolate with sweet caramel notes, using UTZ-certified cocoa beans sourced as part of the Nestlé Cocoa Plan. It has no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
KitKat Gold will be launched in Co-op and Nisa stores as an exclusive on 3 February, before rolling out to other c-stores from 31 March. A version of KitKat Gold was introduced in Australia in 2018 as a limited edition and proved so popular that it was soon added to the permanent range, Nestlé said.
Nestlé marketing director, confectionery, for the UK and Ireland, Alex Gonnella, said: “We’ve had an amazing response to the new KitKat experiences that we’ve introduced over the past few years. I am certain that KitKat Gold is going to be just as big a hit on these shores as it has been down under, especially if the reaction at Nestlé HQ is anything to go by.”
The arrival of KitKat Gold is the latest in a series of innovations for the brand, including the launches of KitKat Green Tea Matcha and KitKat Ruby.
