Costcutter’s Independent own brand is going on TV for the first time with a campaign starting on 18 June.
The ads comprise a series of 10-second and 30-second treatments, focusing on a new range of barbecue meats aimed at the summer market.
The 10-second format highlights the new summer barbeque meats range of sirloin and rump steaks, pepper beef steaks, kebabs and flavoured ribs and pork steaks, all of which are included in a ‘any 2 for £6’ deal. The products are shown cooked and served in a summer garden setting.
Independent products also feature in the 30-second Costcutter adverts with the barbeque meats range portrayed alongside other products from the Independent range.
The adverts will run across ITV and Five in primetime programmes including Emmerdale, Lorraine, Loose Women and ITV News.
Costcutter Supermarkets Group’s marketing director Jenny Wilson said: “The Independent brand has grown 20% year-to-date with excellent feedback from both retailers and consumers. This new television advert is part of our wider marketing strategy and will help drive increased consumer awareness for the Independent brand, showcase the great new products and strong consumer offers we have in the range and help to drive footfall into stores.
“These barbeque meats are a fantastic addition to the range and we have included other Independent products to create a really compelling summer offer.”
