The shortlist for the 2016 Convenience Retail Awards, organised by Convenience Store and The Grocer, has been released.

The list consists of the finallists for the store awards, which recognise all-round performance in retail classified by store size and ownership scale, and a number of special awards for outstanding achievement in particular categories or discipline.

The winners will be revealed at a presentation dinner at 155 Bishopsgate, London, on 17 March. Also on the night, there will be special presentations for Product of the Year, Champion of Energy Efficiency and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Convenience Store editor David Rees said: “Once again, the quality and quantity of entries to the Convenience Retail Awards has astounded us, and the judging panel faced some very hard choices in reducing the contenders down to the 26 stores involved in the final stages. I look forward to welcoming all the finalists, representing the cream of the UK convenience industry, to the awards event in March.”

Supporters of CRA 2016 include Muller Dairies, the Post Office, Bestway, Pernod Ricard, Mars Chocolate, Carlsberg, PayPoint, The Retail Data Partnership, United Biscuits, Jacobs Douwe Egberts, Urban Eat, HIM Research & Consulting, ACS and the National Convenience Show.
