Tesco has shaken up the management of One Stop in a move that sees the departure of franchise director Andrew King.
John Miller, head of operations, remains in the same role but will take overall control of franchising at One Stop in the interim. Tesco said its One Stop business remained a key part of its retail offer and its franchise business had gone from strength to strength since 2014.
It said it was making a series of changes to its service model across Tesco to further simplify its business, and John Miller would now support its One Stop franchises.
“We are very grateful for the work Andrew has done over the last three years, and we look forward to building on these achievements,” Tesco said in a statement
C-store understands that Tracey Clements, managing director of Tesco Convenience and chief executive of One Stop Stores for the past year, wanted to take out duplication and consolidate reporting lines within the multiple’s convenience business. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the entire One Stop board has been dissolved, although Tesco declined to comment on this development.
Clements was promoted to her current position in March 2016, having previously been customer strategy and insight director. She joined the company in 2002 as operations development manager.
Before King rejoined One Stop he held roles at Costcutter, including group strategic operations director and retail operations director. He was previously buying and marketing director of T&S Stores, the original operators of One Stop, which Tesco acquired at the end of October 2002.
