A focus on promotions through its Go Local retail club and symbol has led to sales success for Parfetts.
Sales to Go Local stores rose by 11.8% for the year to June 2013 compared with the previous year, while Go Local promotional sales increased by 59.5%, or £585,000, for the same period. Over the past five years, overall Go Local sales have increased by 127%.
Parfetts relaunched its three-tiered Go Local symbol group fascia and retail club in July 2012, with member stores having a focus on promotional activity.
The first retailer to join the new Go Local Extra fascia, Manish Jadav of Woodside Stores in Bradford, said switching had helped his business to prosper. “Turnover has grown by 20% since we joined Go Local Extra, and has allowed us to offer more promotions that suit our customers’ demands,” he said.
Parfetts managing director David Grimes added: “It is very satisfying that during challenging times, Go Local is performing strongly and, in the majority of categories, is in growth. The success shows Parfetts is in a solid position and continues to invest in the Go Local retail club and symbol group.”
