Bristol retailer Jason Sanga, who runs Jeeves Convenience, won the ultimate accolade at this year’s Booker Prize for Excellence, scooping the Best Retailer title straight after winning the Best Premier Retailer award.
Chris Pollard and Paul Castle, who run Barlby Village Stores at Barlby, North Yorkshire, won Best Large Convenience Store. Best Small Convenience Store went to Christian Whitfield of Whitfield Brothers, Bristol.
Jose and Helen Pestana, who run a Select & Save at Stanford-le-Hope, Essex took the Best Newcomer award. Best Off Licence was awarded to Paul Taylor of Vickis Wine Merchants, Chobham, Surrey, and Best Local Store went to Denise and Vic Loose, who run Witheridge PO and Village Stores at Witheridge, near Tiverton in Devon.
