Landmark customers can get drop-shipments of fresh fruit, vegetables and chilled food in a scheme that aims to help them expand into new product areas.
The Lifestyle Direct initiative works with 10 suppliers to offer retailers direct deliveries at times to suit them. Services on offer include chilled and frozen foods, bread, milk, bake-off, hosiery, greetings cards, DVDs and videos, sandwiches and fruit and veg.
Landmark hopes to introduce independent retailers to lines that may not be available at their local wholesaler and to encourage them to stock ranges they had not previously considered viable.
Landmark Wholesale managing director Martin Williams said the new service would give its customers a crucial point of difference as well as help them to tap into new growth areas.
Suppliers involved in the initiative so far are: Kerry Foods, Roberts Bakery, Iazeron, IDC, Cuisine de France, Cakes for the Connoisseur, Eden Farm, Warburtons, Card Connection and Movies 2 Go.
