A man who murdered a London c-store retailer by stabbing him four times during a robbery has been jailed for life.
Davinder Minhas-Singh stabbed father-of-three Mahmut Fahri in his Best-in Family Store in Wood Green, North London, as his accomplice Abdul Qadeer tried to open the till during a raid last December. During the attack Mahmut was punched in the face and had chilli powder thrown in his eyes before he was stabbed.
The raiders were unable to open the till and escaped with just two bottles of whisky (C-Store, January 14, 2005). Qadeer was given 12 years for his part in the raid.
The court heard that the two robbers had been living in East Ham, East London, illegally and had been served with orders to leave the UK.
