Londis is rolling out its fresh produce range after successful trials with 50 retailers served by the Andover distribution centre.
The range, which includes about 70 prepacked fruit and vegetable items, will soon be available to all Londis retailers to order through their retailer service centres (RSCs).
The scheme will be available from the Elmsall and Thamesmead RSCs early next year.
Steve Carter, head of buying for fresh at Musgrave Budgens Londis, said: "We run a pick-to-zero system. That means retailers order exactly what they want and we order precisely that amount from suppliers to deliver to RSCs the next day, which minimises wastage."
Londis retailer Brian Bradford from Starcross, Exeter, added: "The quality is good and prices are competitive."
