Magners Cider was named as c-store retailers' Product of the Year at this year's Top Shop Awards, held in London last week.
Product of the Year, a new award for 2007, was decided by Convenience Store readers through a telephone poll.
A panel of retailers nominated the brands that had brought their stores incremental sales in 2006, and from this a shortlist of six was compiled. A telephone survey of 200 retailers then decided the overall winner.
Magners won 38% of the vote, followed by Walkers Sensations with 16.5%, Cadbury's Creme Egg Bar with 14% and Coke Zero with 12.5%.
The award was collected by Magners GB national sales manager for off trade, Stephen Winters. He said: "It's tremendous, especially as it's voted for by the retailers. That's the fantastic thing about it - it's real-life feedback from retailers who are seeing the sales and seeing the effect."
