Sugar confectioner Perfetti Van Melle (PVM) is introducing a £1 pricemarked Airheads Fruit pack to its Chupa Chups portfolio.
Airheads Fruit has grown by 21.7% over the past twelve months since its UK launch last summer, claims PVM. Each pack contains bite-sized candies in five sour flavours including; apple, blueberry, cherry, lime and orange.
The bag market is currently worth £611m and growing 2.3% year-on-year, notes the company, adding that its new bags are ideal for convenience outlets, where shoppers are turning for their sharing bag snacks and impulse purchases.
Mark Roberts, UK trade marketing manager, said: “Research shows that pricemarked pack (PMP) formats are some of the most popular in the industry. Last year 63% of retailers claimed they would stock more PMPs this year, and 76% said they’d be more likely to stock products that displayed the price on pack. We’ve listened to feedback, and evolved our NPD to ensure we’re delivering products that deliver time and time again for our retail partners and customers alike.”
Introducing a range of new formats to complement the globally recognisable Chupa Chups lollipop, has contributed to the brand adding £1.7m to the overall sugar confectionery category, states PVM.
